“slowness is happiness” in Korean

This past Korean Memorial Day weekend, my close coworker and I planned a last-minute getaway to Wando and Cheongsando, just so we can relax before we begin another hectic week of work work work. We managed to snag the last, few remaining guesthouses and hopped on an 8:30am bus to begin the 5-hour journey to our destination.

TCK Goes to Hawaii: 9 reasons why Oahu should be your next vacation destination

TCK Goes to Hawaii

If you already follow me on Instagram or Twitter, you know that I went to the gorgeous island of Oahu, Hawaii a few weeks ago. This wasn’t my first time to Hawaii, however, it was the first time going without the company of family members so it was a completely different experience. It almost felt like I was visiting the place for the first time. (definitely a case of travelling with family vs. travelling with friends) Maybe it was also because I’m older now…

Anyways, I’m here to convince you why Oahu should be your next vacation destination. It’s not because I’m doubting that you believe Hawaii is amazing, but to reinforce that thought. I know Hawaii has always been lauded as being a paradise, but sometimes it can seem overrated because everyone talks about it. But Hawaii is far from it. It is well-deserving of all those wonderful reviews and raves. And I’m about to tell you why: Continue reading

My Skin But Better: Laneige BB Cushion Pore Control

My Skin But Better: Laneige BB Cushion Pore Control

The world is currently in love with the natural and effortless makeup look, and I am no exception to the partiality. The foundation I use these days to achieve that look is Laneige BB Cushion Pore Control. Laneige carries several versions of the BB cushions (pore control, anti-aging, or whitening), all of which are highly acclaimed for their gorgeous wearability. I wear the “pore control” line just because I have combination/oily skin. Continue reading

“The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do In Life And Business” by Charles Duhigg

Ever wondered why you do certain things the way you do or why some behaviors are so darn hard to break? Blame (or thank) habits. Charles Duhigg explains in his book that habits are a huge part of our lives. The reason we don’t really think about habits is because they are automated mechanisms hardwired into our brain. However, once you’re conscious of your habits, you can alter the patterns and produce new habits. It’s definitely easier said than done, but the way Charles makes this less intimidating by breaking down the concepts into easy, digestible parts. He also draws examples from individual cases, NFL teams, and big corporations. You’ll be surprised how habits affected them and what kind of aftermaths were drawn. Continue reading

April Things in Seoul: Cherry Blossom Festivals

If you’re gonna be in Seoul in April, you’re in luck because cherry blossom season has returned! During the first and second week of April, you’ll witness Seoul transform into a sea of gorgeous pastel pink. Locals and tourists will fill the parks and the streets to see the cherry blossoms before they fade away, which is usually followed by Summer… And we’re not quite ready for that yet.

If you’re looking for more than just pretty flowers, here are two cherry blossom festival you can check out this April:

Hello & BRB

Hi, guys! I just came here to give you guys a quick update on what’s been happening. I’ve been taking a break from TCK Goes Home for a few months now. I’m on a blogging break because I had other commitments in life that needed more attention, and it just got progressively harder and harder to juggle all that with blogging. I chose to put blogging off for now so I can work on one thing at a time. (Multi-tasking is hard!) I am working on a few personal projects at the moment. And I am planning on coming back to TCK Goes Home sometime this year (so specific, right?). I will still be on social media if you want to stay in touch. 🙂

I miss blogging and I can’t wait to be back and show you guys what I’ve been working on!

Until then… Bye for now!

A Few Articles I Liked in November – Being Thankful

Articles November 2015

How was everyone’s November? I cannot believe we are ending another month and heading into the final month of 2015! Isn’t that just crazy???

November has always been a month of being thankful for me. Although my family never seriously celebrated Thanksgiving when we lived in the States, just the fact that you get to dedicate the month to being thankful is really nice. Therefore, I decided to dedicate to this month’s edition of “A Few Articles I Liked” to anything related to gratitude. Get ready for some warmth & fuzziness! Continue reading
